Greetings from Alan Cash Video.
I sincerely hope you are getting back in the groove. We can all agree this has been a very challenging year for many. Thankfully, it seems we are finally over the COVID hump.

The last three months have been extremely busy for ACV. There have been back to back shoots and a slew of live streams: school graduations, corporate events conferences, celebrations and funerals. In fact, with much gratitude, this has been my busiest period since I started my business!

This newsletter highlights three of our best 2021 high school and college graduation live streams around the Bay Area.

Cal Maritime
ACV had the opportunity to film the California State University Maritime Academy 2021 graduation. The university is based in Vallejo and is the only Maritime academy on the west coast.

The event took place on May 15 at Bodnar Field with smartly dressed cadets in crisp white suits and naval hats alongside faculty, family and friends.

It’s been a very tough year for all students who have mostly worked remotely with limited contact and separation from normal college life.

The school was the first school to open in the CAL State system demonstrating their dedication, ingenuity and willingness to put this period to an end.

Our crew consisted of a four person team, two camera persons, a technical director and switching tech. We also referred Oakland Audio and Visual who provided A/V services, PA and speakers all around the field.

The live stream included setting up and preparing the day before with all equipment for a pre-rehearsal and thorough testing.

We used three matched cameras, two from the front and one on stage following all the action as the graduates received their diplomas and walked on and off stage.

Our team used ear tech communication headsets and took direction from the tech director. All cameras and pre recorded video inserts were switched by a Tricaster switching system, an industry production standard.

This event was live streamed to YouTube in HD.

AIMS High School – Oakland
We were especially grateful to be asked back to film and live stream the AIMS High School 2021 graduation in Oakland.

Out of all the schools, I’ve had the privilege to film and livestream, AIMS continues to be my favorite.

This school is a true reflection of Oakland’s diverse community, where encouragement of staff, faculty and academic excellence, go hand in hand.

The graduation was held on June 17 at the AIMS Lakeview campus parking lot.

AIMS continued to thrive through COVID-19, meeting the needs of all students, and helping them reach their goals of graduation and college acceptance.

Special guest speaker from KTVU 2 News, anchor Claudine Wong, gave an enthusiastic speech to all who were present. Head of School, Mr Maurice Williams and his faculty were an inspiring presence and role models of leadership.

AIMS is a nationally recognized, award-winning charter school and continues to raise the bar every year.

This year AIMS is proud to send the majority of their students to the prestigious UC system.

“We’re proud to celebrate another graduating class of seniors who represent all that AIMS stands for “The COVID-19 pandemic brought challenges that we overcame together as a District, and our students excelled academically. I’m confident that our seniors are leaving us with the values that we instilled in them, and the tools to face obstacles with strength and positivity.”
Superintendent Maya Woods-Cadiz

AIMS is known for its academic excellence and comprehensive college preparation. AIMS is committed to ensuring that all students receive the necessary resources needed to succeed, regardless of their socio-economic background.

In 2020, AIMS was pronounced the Hart Vision Award Winner for Northern California School of the Year, was named a Top A-G Quality School, and was once again recognized by Innovate Public schools as a Top Bay Area public school.

Congratulations to AIMS high school!

John Swett High School
John Swett High School is also based in Vallejo, close to the old C&H sugar plant and around the corner from CAL Maritime.

This event took place on June 11 on their large football field. The event kicked off as usual with Pomp and Circumstance played by the school’s band. Each student was celebrated and honored with their school diploma.

This is a year to remember for all their students who are now moving on to their next academic experience.

We filmed with three cameras and live streamed to the YouTube Channel.
